Undercover Narcotics Training

The Strike Force offers training to law enforcement officers in the area.  The training is all "on the job training".  Officers will learn about aspects of undercover drug operations by being a part of them. Topics may include:

  • Surveillance (both physical and electronic)
  • Controlled buy planning and execution
  • Search warrant application, planning and execution

Since the training is on the job training, the Strike Force would recommend that the officer be committed to the unit for a period of no less than two weeks.  This allows the officer time to be involved in numerous cases giving them an opportunity to be involved in as many aspects of a case as possible.  This is recommend but other arrangements can be made on a case by case basis.  Any equipment the officer may need while at the unit will be supplied by the unit (cell phones, vehicles, etc.).

On Site Training

If an agency requests training in a specific area of narcotics investigation the Strike Force will provide that training for that Agency.  One of the more popular requests for this type of training is on the topic of methamphetamine labs.  The Strike Force can also bring a wide variety of narcotics for officers to see and handle.  This would include common methods of abuse, packaging and trafficking.

Other Resources

The following are links to other training resources for law enforcement officers.

Regional Counterdrug Training Academy  Located in Meridian Mississippi the Academy offers free classes on a wide variety of Drug and Tactical topics.  Officers from the region are given preference but, any additional slots are free and lodging is covered.
